Make your Console to a Lead Generator with Google Tag Manager

Installation time: 2 minutes.

Almost every time I visit a new site I’m curious how the site are running and how they have built it. Sometimes I want to know which plugin or script they are using. I know I’m not alone doing this.

Therefore I have come up with an easy solution to catch those who are interesting in my website. Maybe they are looking for jobs? Then you want to encourage them to apply for one from the console. Or you could use the console as a hot lead generator!

This is how a message in the console can look like

You can easy implement this with Google Tag Manager and here is how you do it:

  1. Create a new Custom HTML Tag
  2. Add the following script to the tag
    <script>
      console.info('This is a weird why of communicating');
    </script>
  3. Make the tag firo on All Pages or the page you desire. You can have multiple tags of this kind to fire on e.g the front page and another on the about page.
  4. Save Tag and you are done!
